Stainless Steel 317/317L Stud Bolts consist mainly of iron, with chromium content of about 18-20% and nickel content of 12-15% to provide corrosion resistance. Molybdenum (3-4%) addition also provides pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of about 650 MPa and yield strength of 290 MPa. These stud bolts contain good toughness along with excellent corrosion resistance, thanks to which these are used at high temperatures under aggressive conditions. The lower amount of carbon contained in 317L makes welding easier.
