They exhibit good mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of 275–400 MPa and a yield strength of 69–135 MPa, along with good ductility and elongation. In terms of physical properties they have a melting point of approximately 1100°C and a density of 8.89 g/cm³. They also possess high thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as higher resistance to seawater corrosion and biofouling, and are therefore suitable for marine, chemical, and industrial use.
