SS 17-4 PH Bolts consist mainly of iron, 15-17.5% chromium, 3-5% nickel, 3-5% copper, and traces of manganese, silicon, and niobium. They have superior mechanical properties with tensile strength up to 1310 MPa and yield strength of approximately 1170 MPa when subjected to heat treatment (H900 condition). They have excellent ductility, hardness and fatigue strength. Physically they possess a density of 7.75 g/cm³ and a melting point of around 1400°C. They have a good corrosion resistance and high strength, making them applicable for severe, high-stress, and corrosive industrial settings.
