SS 17-4 PH Nuts contain primarily iron with 15–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, and small traces of niobium, manganese, and silicon. The nuts show superior mechanical characteristics such as tensile strength of up to 1310 MPa and yield strength approximately 1170 MPa when they are subjected to heat treatment (H900 condition). The nuts provide excellent hardness, fatigue strength, and resistance to wear. They are physically 7.75 g/cm³ in density and have a melting point of approximately 1400°C. Their enhanced corrosion resistance and mechanical strength make them suitable for stringent industrial and structural applications.
